A community of practice is a group of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do, and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly. This definition reflects the fundamentally social nature of human learning.

We will be hosting regular virtual meetings and meetings, gathering resources and creating spaces where therapists from across UK and Ireland can find support to engage with, read, use, share and generate research in Ayres’ SI.
We are just beginning. We don’t know what the end looks like, but after our first meeting online last night, the outlook is bright.
We are so lucky to have some great leaders who learnt about research in Ayres’ SI from Jean Ayres herself. These pioneers created research groups and research pathways; developing inspiring and collaborative ways of working. The results of their efforts are much of the research in Ayres’ SI we use to inform our daily clinical practice. They have told and very generously shared their learning as stories, so we can learn from these.
